Sounds good! Hong Kong is such a fascinating place, and of course the handover and its aftermath was a huge moment for Britain too – the final end of the empire, really.
The handover was a major event, FictionFan, that’s for sure. And it did have all sorts of implications beyond those on the surface. Osborne does deal with that just a bit as he discusses the elite class’ attitude towards Western views, Chinese views, and so on. And, yes, Hong Kong is a fascinating place with such a rich history. Someday it would be wonderful to see it.
