Sounds good. I’m one of those people who gets fed up with amateurs unrealistically doing the police’s job for them, so I’m glad to hear that Lily isn’t one of those! Small towns are always great settings for mysteries.
I’m with you, FictionFan, when it comes to amateur sleuths. It doesn’t feel believable if an amateur collects evidence, etc., independently. There are ways to involve an amateur in a credible way, and I prefer mysteries that do that. And yeah, small towns are very effective settings for a crime novel.
