This was my first Edmund Crispin and I loved it! Since then I’ve read a few of the Gervase Fen books and he’s become a firm favourite. I love the combination of excellent plotting and humour in the books.
Aren’t the books great, FictionFan? This is one of the really good ones, too, in my opinion. That combination of wit, plotting, and characters really makes it all work!
Lovely, Margot – one of my favourite GA novels, and I think possibly my first Crispin. I love his wit!

Oh, I do, too, KBR! Isn’t it fantastic? And it is a classic GA novel. So much to like about it, in my opinion.
