It is a nicely varied collection, FictionFan. DeWitt is aptly surnamed, too; there is definitely wit in the stories. It’s funny about short story collections. Like you, I don’t usually reach for a collection first. But I’ve rarely regretted it when I’ve done so. A collection is the right length for, say, waiting in a doctor’s office when you want a quicker read.
