I always prefer stories that stick to the plot rather than having too much focus on the detective’s personal life. Sounds good! The idea of having a PI’s client list as suspects has a lot of potential!
I’m with you, FictionFan. I do like learning about the characters and their home lives; it helps me see them as people. But too much detail can take away from the plot, I think. And it really was interesting to have a PI client list as a set of suspects. It gives a bit of a window on the what life as a PI is like, in my opinion. So, yes, lots of potential!
