Sounds fascinating! Quite dark, but it sounds as if the daughter manages to stay strong despite her disturbing childhood which I’m guessing probably stops it from becoming too bleak.
It is both fascinating and dark, FictionFan. Christine does have a lot of strength; and, although Abbott doesn’t make light of the pressure she is under and her childhood, Christine survives. I don’t want to spoil the story, but I can say that she’s a survivor. If you do decide to read this, I hope you’ll enjoy it!

I really think it’s a good’un, Col. It’s gritty in its way, and there’s a really strong psychological factor in it.
