  1. I tend to prefer crime novels set among the wealthy, though I’m not sure why. It might be that often the victim seems to have “asked” for it, often to do with money or using power over others, whereas when the victim is poorer the reason for their murder often seems sadder and more unfair. Or it might just be that I enjoy vicariously spending time in nice homes, restaurants, shops, etc!

    1. It is fun to spend time (even if fictionally) in expensive stores, spas, Michelin star restaurants, and so on, isn’t it, FictionFan? You make an interesting point, too, about the difference between crime among the wealthy and crime in other communities. And yet, those who lose loved ones to murder are devastated, no matter how much their income. Still, I do see your point. Perhaps people sometimes feel that ‘regular people’ or really low-income people have enough to deal with? Whatever the reason, I don’t think you’re alone!
