I didn’t know DV Bishop is a Kiwi! I’ve been trying to resist temptation with this series, despite it always sounding very appealing, purely because my TBR is in its usual state of overflowing. But I think you’ve tipped me over the edge! Is it important to read them in order or does this one stand alone?
If I’m being honest, FictionFan, I thought of you when I read this one and its predecessor (which, by the way, was longlisted for the Ngaio Marsh Award last year). I do think you’d like the series. As for reading the books in order, it helps (doesn’t it always!), but it’s not necessary, as Bishop gives enough background so you can step in with this novel. And I know all about an overflowing TBR *sigh.*

Thanks! I’ve added the first in the series to my wishlist, though when I’ll get to it is anybody’s guess!
