  1. I really must try Richard Osman one of these days. He’s been a TV personality and comedian over here for ages, so I find it difficult to think of him as an author, but he’s probably been more successful as a writer than in his other career!

    1. I’ll be really interested in what you think of Osman’s writing, FictionFan. I find it interesting when a person who’s had one career (like being a TV personality) gives writing a go. Sometimes it works quite well, and sometimes people are not fond of it. I’ll be keen to know what you think of Osman’s characters, etc., if you try his work.

  2. Very interesting, Margot! I’ve read the first two of Richard Osman’s Thursday Murder Club books and found them more irritating than enjoyable, mainly because his type of humour does not match mine. It’s the sort of humour that makes me groan in despair. They are very readable though and made me curious to find out who did what to whom. I think films of the books could be better than the books – it’s not often I think that!

    1. Thanks, Margaret! I’m glad you enjoyed the post. That’s the thing about Osman’s wit; it’s not for everyone. I think humour is subjective like that. I can see your point, too, about film adaptations. As I think about this book, I can see very well how it would make for a good film. And usually, like you, I don’t think films are better than books!
