Well, for once you can’t add to my TBR since I’ve already read this one! I love that kind of crossover between literary and genre, and I think Catton does it really well in this book. I’m usually complaining that authors are too prolific, but with Catton my complaint is the reverseโ I wish she’d speed up her output!
Ha! I’ll have to try harder to add to your list next time, FictionFan! ๐ I agree completely about Catton’s writing style. She blends literary sort of writing with the crime/thriller genre, and she does it effectively. The book raises some interesting and important questions, too. Like you, I’m eager to see what she does next.
I like the idea of a literary novel and a genre novel and also that its setting is in New Zealand.

It is an interesting mix, Carol, and it is set distinctively in New Zealand. If you try it, I hope you’ll enjoy it.
