I Just Want to Celebrate*

Today’s a very big day! It’s Launch Day for LAXtras: Los Angeles-Style Crime Stories! This is a terrific collection of 19 excellent short stories – and one from me, too – all of which take place in Los Angeles. There are light stories, darker stories, and plenty in between. And the anthology takes you all over Los Angeles, from its storied international airport to the wealthy homes in Hollywood Hills, to its legendary theatres, to the downtown streets of the city, and more. You’ll meet all sorts of characters, too.

Here’s the blurb:

Welcome to Los Angeles, where anything can happen, and usually does…

  • An intelligence operation that could go very wrong…
  • A holiday party where murder is on the menu…
  • A tough PI in search of a missing wife who might not want to be found…
  • Nefarious doings at a legendary theatre…

……and who’s killing all those clowns?
In these suspenseful stories, you’ll take a tension-filled tour of the city, from its world-famous airport, to the enclaves of the rich and privileged, to the suburbs, the city streets, and the countryside. You’ll find LA-style crime wherever you go!

A group of very talented authors have come together and worked hard to make this happen. Please visit their websites and check out their work. There are stories from:

Mark Bastable

José H. Bográn

Anne-Marie Campbell

Cat Connor

Lynette Eklund

Cyndra Gernet

Teel James Glenn

Aimee Kluck

Calene McAdams

Sharon Marchisello

K.B. Owen

… and yours truly.

The best thing about this fantastic collection of stories is that all royalties will be donated to the California Community Foundation’s Wildfire Recovery Fund!  Each purchase helps those devastated by the February, 2025 wildfires to rebuild their lives. Not only do you get a great read, but you’re doing some good, too.

The book is available right here!  Check it out.

There you are, your holiday list sorted. You’re welcome!

  1. I’m so happy to be part of it, and have shared it to every book group to which I belong.

It’s an excellent collection. I hope it does well and helps many.
