Sounds interesting! I haven’t come across the author before, though it looks like she’s lived in Scotland long enough to count as an honorary Scot – or ‘New Scot’, as our govt insists on calling anyone who chooses to live here!
I noticed that, too, FictionFan! New Scot or not, she’s lived in Scotland for quite a while. I thought about that as I was reading, and although I am absolutely not an expert (at all!), the dialogue, etc., didn’t feel contrived or condescending. If you do get to this one, I’ll be interested in what you think.
