Sounds interesting! There are plenty of mysteries set in this period but I don’t think I’ve come across one set in NZ before. Somehow I don’t think of Dunedin as a place with dangerous factories – clearly I have an overly romantic view of the place! My imagining of it at that time would have been more like Avonlea… 😉
Ha! No, not Avonlea, FictionFan! And I have to say, I think Pascoe (doesn’t she have a great surname? 😉 )does an effective job of portraying those factories. It’s realistic, but not overly bleak and graphic. It’s interesting, isn’t it, how we get mental pictures of a please…
