They sound like an interesting duo. You don’t see quite as many “Watsons” in crime fiction these days, so it’s good to see the tradition being continued. A good Watson really has the perfect viewpoint for a mystery – more personal than a third-person narrator, but with none of the problems of first-person narrators having to conceal things from the reader,
You know, FictionFan, i always feel that Watson isn’t given his due. As you say, he’s a really important character in terms of perspective and of keeping the story going. And the narrator of this story plays much the same role.
